Language asset management

We create, update and maintain your language assets to ensure consistency in your translations, and adherence to your branding and tone of voice. Whatever the project, we keep your language assets secure and can return them to you in any format, whenever you may need them.

Why language assets are important

Every industry, organisation or business speaks its own language. Language assets help them ensure that their brand messaging is delivered in the right tone and voice when content is translated.

There are three types of language assets that make it possible to harmonise content across languages:

  • Glossaries and term bases. They contain the key terms and their translations that are specific to your company and product, ensuring consistency.
  • Translation memories (TMs). They are databases created using CAT tools. They contain source phrases or segments and their translations, and are used to pre-translate new text. Apart from consistency, they also ensure cost- and time-efficiency.
  • Style guides. They include a set of rules about your content preferences, writing tone, grammar preferences and overall style, extending consistency to your brand identity and image.

How we manage your language assets

Managing terminology in a strategic manner improves consistency, and reduces the time and cost of your translations. At Symmetrans, we undertake to:

  • Create and maintain new language assets.
  • Update your existing language assets.
  • Return your language assets to you in any format, whenever you need them.
